HYBE is a South Korean entertainment company originally founded by Bang Si Hyuk as Big Hit Entertainment in 2005. On March 10, 2021, it was announced that Big Hit Entertainment would rebrand as HYBE to better reflect its growth into a comprehensive content and lifestyle company. The rebrand was officially approved on March 30, 2021. As part of the restructuring, the original “Big Hit Entertainment” identity was retained as a separate music label under the new name BigHit Music, operating within HYBE’s multi-label system. BigHit Music remains the dedicated label managing artists such as BTS, TXT, and CORTIS. While these groups are part of the HYBE family, they are signed exclusively to BigHit Music, which functions as its own entity under HYBE. Their first group, BTS, debuted in June 2013, and their massive success helped propel BigHit—and later HYBE—into becoming one of the largest and most influential entertainment agencies in the world.
