BTS is truly making 2026 their year. On top of dropping their full-length album ARIRANG and throwing a huge free concert in Gwanghwamun, they are bringing back the comfort show. After a three-year break, the group's variety series is returning, revamped as Run BTS 2.0.
Getting new music is amazing, but having the group's chaotic, natural chemistry back on screen on a weekly basis is the exact kind of content everyone has been waiting for.
Brainstorming the New Era
The hype kicked off on Monday, March 30, when a surprise 40-second teaser dropped on the BANGTANTV YouTube channel.
The clip gives a behind-the-scenes look at the new season's planning phase, showing RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook gathered around for a brainstorming session. The members can be seen discussing how internet trends have changed during their military hiatus and tossing around updated ideas for the upcoming episodes. Seeing all seven of them sitting together and plotting their next variety show moves brought back the classic, chaotic energy that made the original series so beloved.
Premiere Date and Where to Watch
Run BTS 2.0 is set to officially premiere on April 7, 2026.
Just like the good old days, the show is sticking to its traditional weekly Tuesday release schedule. Episodes will drop at 9:00 PM KST and will be available to watch on both the official BANGTANTV YouTube channel and the Weverse platform. While the episode count for this new 2.0 season is currently being kept under wraps, just knowing that Tuesday routines are back is a huge win for the community.
A Decade of Laughs and the 'Run Seokjin' Carry
t is actually wild to think that the original Run BTS has been around for roughly a decade, launched back in 2015. The show's track record is staggering. Between 2015 and 2021, the 155 regular episodes racked up around 140 million views on YouTube. The ten special episodes released across 2022 and 2023 pulled in another 130 million views, with moments like the flying yoga challenge ("Fly BTS Fly Part 1") grabbing 30 million views on its own.
Of course, a shoutout is owed to Jin for keeping the variety momentum alive during the group's hiatus. Throughout 2024 and 2025, he carried the torch with his solo spin-off, Run Seokjin. Operating on a mindset of doing whatever it takes to repay the fans' love, Jin delivered content and pulled in mind-blowing guest stars. From South Korean national athletes to Japanese actor Yutaka Matsushige, and even Hollywood legend Tom Cruise, the spin-off was a success.
Now, with the whole squad finally back together, the highly anticipated 2.0 era is ready to begin.
