Y2K was the first joint Korean-Japanese boy band. Debuting under Chosun Entertainment in 1999, the groups name was chosen during the Y2K bug hysteria in the late 90's, along with representing the members initials. Their debut album was called 'YIIK'. The members were Jaegeun Koh, Yuichi Matsuo, and Koji Matsuo. Their debut song 'After Breakup' became extremely popular and would continue to rank first on music shows such as Music Bank and Inkigayo. The brothers, Yuichi and Koji, were popular in Japan and a sub-unit for them would be created. Despite the busy schedules in both South-Korea and Japan, the group remained consistent with activities until their 3.5th album, when they suddenly disbanded. Currently, all the members are still active with Yuichi and Koji re-debuting in the Japanese group 'SWANKY DANK' in 2007 and Jaegeun becoming a musical actor and trot singer.
