Guckkasten is a South Korean rock band known for their powerful vocals, psychedelic sound, and theatrical live performances. Formed in 2003 and officially debuting in 2008, the band consists of four talented members: Ha Hyun-woo (vocals/guitar), Jeon Kyu-ho (guitar), Kim Ki-bum (bass), and Lee Jung-gil (drums). The band's name, Guckkasten, is a German word meaning “optical box” or “viewing device,” symbolizing their commitment to delivering music that is both visually imaginative and emotionally immersive. Their sound blends elements of psychedelic rock, progressive rock, and alternative rock, often featuring poetic lyrics and intricate arrangements. Guckkasten gained mainstream recognition through lead vocalist Ha Hyun-woo’s legendary run on the Korean music show King of Masked Singer, where he reigned as the long-time champion under the alias “Our Neighborhood Music General.” Over the years, Guckkasten has built a strong and loyal fanbase, celebrated for their electrifying stage presence and genre-defying artistry. While they don't follow the typical idol group system, they remain one of Korea’s most respected and innovative rock acts.
