The KingDom

The KingDom, formerly known as KINGDOM, is a South Korean boy group formed under GF Entertainment. Originally debuting as seven members, the group made its official debut on February 18, 2021, with the release of its first mini album History of Kingdom: PartⅠ. Arthur. The group currently consists of six members. The group’s pre-debut promotions began on January 22, 2020, with the reveal of profile photos for Dann, Louis, and Chiwoo. Arthur was introduced on April 17, followed by Ivan on May 29, Jahan on June 30, and Mujin on July 31. In January 2021, the group launched its official debut teasers, beginning with a “Gate Open D-40” image and a music video teaser for the track “Excalibur.” GF Entertainment’s CEO, Ko Yoonyoung, explained that the group’s concept centered on “seven kingdoms and seven kings,” with the debut album focusing on King Arthur. On February 18, 2021, the group released History of Kingdom: PartⅠ. Arthur. Their second mini album, History of Kingdom: PartⅡ. Chiwoo, followed on July 1, and the third installment, History of Kingdom: PartⅢ. Ivan, was released on October 21. In 2022, the group prepared its fourth mini album, History of Kingdom: PartⅣ. Dann, initially scheduled for March 17 but delayed to March 31 due to Arthur and Mujin testing positive for COVID-19. The album featured the title track “Ascension.” On May 25, it was announced that Chiwoo had left the group due to personal reasons. Hwon was later introduced as a new member on August 31 and made his debut with History of Kingdom: PartⅤ. Louis, released on October 5. Promotions continued in 2023 with the release of History of Kingdom: PartⅥ. Mujin on March 23. On April 25, Arthur was placed on indefinite hiatus due to health concerns but later returned to group activities, including performances at the Lotte Family Concert. On October 18, the group released History of Kingdom: PartⅦ. Jahan. Later that year, Louis was announced to be on hiatus for health reasons, though he participated in the 2023 Asia Artist Awards performance. In 2024, the group signaled a rebranding with the release of a comeback teaser on April 3. On April 4, GF Entertainment announced the official name change from KINGDOM to The KingDom. The group then announced its eighth mini album, Realize, released on April 30. Developments in 2025 included member changes and enlistment news. On January 17, Hwon departed the group for personal reasons. On January 20, it was revealed that Arthur and Ivan would temporarily step back from activities to participate in the Philippines-based survival show Be The NEXT: 9 Dreamers, leaving the group to promote as four members. Both returned to activities on May 21. On September 4, GF Entertainment announced that Dann would begin his mandatory military enlistment on September 9, with the group continuing as five members during his absence. On September 11, The KingDom confirmed plans to release its first special album on September 23. On February 12, 2026, GF Entertainment announced that following THE KINGDOM’s FAN-CON “THE KINGDOM IN NUMINUS” on February 28, 2026, the group will temporarily suspend full-group activities, with members focusing on individual schedules. The agency expressed its gratitude to fans for their continued support and explained that, as several members approach their mandatory military service, no separate official group events will be held during this period. GF Entertainment added that it will continue to support the members’ future endeavors and asked fans for their understanding and continued encouragement.
