Dream Perfect Regime, commonly abbreviated as DPR, is an independent, multi-genre musical and creative collective founded in Seoul in 2014 by DPR IAN (Christian Yu), DPR LIVE (Hong Da‑bin), and DPR REM (Scott Kim). Widely known for seamlessly blending music and visuals, DPR operates as a fully self-funded label—reinvesting all earnings and maintaining complete independence from the traditional K‑pop system. The collective began as a visual production team before expanding into music. During this period, DPR IAN, who had recently left his K-pop group C-Clown (2013–2015), was producing experimental visuals under the alias dPinkReel—a name inspired by a dream of a film reel emitting pink smoke. That concept evolved through several iterations (dpinkroyal, dproyal, dpregime, ㄴㄱrge) before settling on Dream Perfect Regime in 2015. DPR’s very first musical release came that same year with DPR LIVE’s debut single “Till I Die”, followed by his breakthrough EP Coming To You Live (2017). He continued to solidify DPR’s presence with Her (2017) and the full-length album Is Anybody Out There? (2020), leading to the group’s first global tour. In 2021, DPR LIVE and DPR IAN contributed the track “Diamonds + and Pearls” to the soundtrack of the box-office hit 'Shang‑Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings', becoming two of the first Korean artists to be featured on a Marvel film soundtrack. Meanwhile, DPR IAN, originally the group’s visual director, made his solo debut as a musician with the 2021 EP Moodswings in This Order. He followed with the studio album Moodswings in to Order (2022), which introduced conceptual personas—MITO and Mr. Insanity—inspired by his lived experience with bipolar disorder. He has since released Dear Insanity…(2023) and Saint (2024), continuing to build a cinematic universe through both music and visuals. Before and after becoming a soloist, IAN directed all of DPR’s music videos, and was also behind visuals for other artists, notably Bobby ("HOLUP!"), MINO ("Body"), and Taeyang ("Wake Me Up"). DPR CREAM joined in 2016 after working with DPR LIVE on the track “Thirst.” He made his solo debut in 2019 with The Voyager 737, eventually releasing his first full-length album psyche: red in 2024. Known for his ambient, layered production and a unique “zero gravity state” mixing technique, CREAM has been a key sonic architect for the collective. DPR ARTIC joined the collective in 2019, initially as a touring DJ and producer. He contributed behind the scenes to live performances and collaborative tracks like “SYNC” with DPR CREAM (for the DPR × Adidas campaign), and was credited on “Set It Off” (2022), a track by DPR LIVE featuring DPR CLINE. ARTIC was officially introduced as DPR’s fourth solo artist on December 22, 2023, and debuted with his EP KINEMA in February 2024—a cinematic, dystopian project blending techno, hip-hop, and filmic storytelling. The music video for his title track, Do or Die, featured and was directed by DPR IAN, with a cameo by DPR LIVE. DPR CLINE, cousin to DPR LIVE, has been with DPR from the early days as a visual and marketing contributor, hype man, and stage performer. He made his recorded debut with DPR LIVE on “Set It Off” for the 2022 League of Legends MSI tournament in Busan. Though not a solo artist, CLINE is a recurring presence in DPR's videos, live tours, and fan-facing content, embodying the collective’s community spirit. The group’s second global tour, The Regime World Tour (2022–2023), brought DPR to over 135,000 fans across five continents, culminating in a finale show in Seoul. Shortly after, DPR REM, who had been the group’s strategic and executive producer since its founding, departed the collective in early 2023. In 2024, DPR embarked on The Dream Reborn World Tour spanning across 21 countries with 37 shows. In mid-2023, DPR LIVE announced a hiatus from group activities and launched a new chapter under his birth name Hong Da‑bin through a new company, CTYL—named after his signature phrase “Coming To You Live.” Today, DPR continues to thrive with three active solo artists—DPR IAN, DPR CREAM, and DPR ARTIC—as well as an ever-evolving creative roster. With headquarters in both Seoul and Los Angeles, the collective remains rooted in its core values: creative freedom, artistic independence, and collaboration with a loyal global fanbase known as DREAMers. Despite the lineup changes and individual transitions, DPR remains a powerful creative force—driven by passion, visual storytelling, and a long-term vision for redefining music and art beyond industry boundaries.
