Just two days after wrapping up his "REMASTERED" solo tour in Kuala Lumpur on April 11, Taeyong dropped a surprise. He is gearing up to release a new collaboration track titled "Rock Solid" featuring Anderson .Paak.
With teasers already rolling out across social media, including a stylized image of their faces carved right into the Canadian Rocky Mountains, the timeline is already buzzing about what this duo has cooking in the studio.
Hip-Hop Anthem Produced by Heavy Hitters
Set to drop across global streaming platforms on April 17, 2026, at 1 PM KST, "Rock Solid" is shaping up to be a hip-hop release.
Sonically, the track is built around a catchy hip-hop groove. The contrast between Taeyong’s aggressive rap style and Anderson .Paak’s signature raspy vocal tone is exactly the kind of multidimensional synergy that makes a collaboration work. Furthermore, with producer Dem Jointz hinting at his own involvement in the track’s creation recently, the general consensus is that the production on this is going to be fired. Taeyong even gave everyone a sneak peek into the creative process, uploading a TikTok from the studio where he was seen dancing and bouncing ideas off the producers.
Lyrically, the song leans into themes of confidence and perseverance. It is all about Taeyong’s determination to protect the achievements he has worked so hard to build, standing unshaken in an increasingly competitive industry.
Anderson .Paak's Growing K-Pop Universe
At this point, Anderson .Paak is becoming the male equivalent of Megan Thee Stallion when it comes to securing K-pop collaborations.
His presence in the Korean music scene has grown. Fans of the industry are already very familiar with him following his recent features, including aespa’s "Keychain" earlier this year and G-Dragon’s "Too Bad" in 2025. His deep ties to the culture make a lot of sense, he is part Korean, shares a half-Korean son, and is currently starring in a movie centered around his son's journey to becoming a K-pop idol. Add in his friendship with Korean-American artist Dumbfoundead, and it is easy to see why he is so integrating into these releases.
"Rock Solid" serves as the bridge into Taeyong's next musical chapter. This track is just the beginning, as he is already locked in to release a new full solo album next month in May 2026.
