The 2026 K-pop calendar has been a rollercoaster of unexpected agency departures and lineup shifts, leaving a lot of fandoms completely stressed out. However, amidst all the recent industry chaos, SEVENTEEN just stepped up to deliver the comfort news. All thirteen members have officially renewed their contracts with PLEDIS Entertainment.
A Concert Reveal
Rather than dropping a press release on a random weekday, the group chose to share the news directly. During the final day of their SEVENTEEN WORLD TOUR [NEW_] ENCORE at the Incheon Asiad Main Stadium on Sunday, April 5, leader S.Coups took the mic to make the announcement.
He shared that the guys had some deep conversations about their future, which led to all thirteen members deciding to sign on the dotted line together. He reassured the crowd by stating they are all in the same boat and move forward as a complete unit.
Seeing a thirteen-member group stay intact since their 2015 debut is an incredible, almost unheard-of achievement in the current industry landscape. With so many individual members holding a personal popularity, staying together with the original lineup for a second contract renewal, following their first early renewal in 2021, proves just how strong their bond actually is. S.Coups wrapping up the second day of the encore tour by declaring that they will always go together as thirteen is easily going down as a legendary moment for the fans.
Hitting Pause on Full-Group Concerts
While the renewal is a victory, S.Coups was also very honest about the group's touring future. He admitted that thinking about the fact that they will not be holding any full-group concerts for a while made him look back deeply on the past eleven years.
This temporary pause on OT13 stages makes complete sense given their current military enlistment. Jeonghan, Wonwoo, Woozi, and Hoshi have been carrying out their mandatory service since 2024. Even though they are away, familiar faces are still popping up, with Hoshi spotted performing alongside the South Korean Army's Taekwondo Demonstration Team.
Even without full-group tours on the horizon, the music is not stopping. The active members are keeping the momentum going strong with various sub-unit projects. DK and Seungkwan just dropped their mini-album SERENADE, and the timeline is buzzing with rumors about Vernon and The8 forming a new sub-unit soon.
Beyond the music releases, the group is gearing up for a celebration. S.Coups mentioned he wanted to announce the contract renewals right now so the air would be cleared before their upcoming 10th-anniversary fan meeting. 2026 SVT 10TH FAN MEETING <SEVENTEEN in CARAT LAND> is slated for this June, giving everyone the perfect opportunity to celebrate this new chapter together.
